Search engine optimization can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re already running a busy photography business. The good news? SEO isn’t magic. It’s practical, learnable, and completely doable when you have a clear plan. Below, you’ll see real case studies from photographers who implemented the strategies taught inside my SEO Course and applied the Keyword Goldmine method, optimized their sites, and created strategic content using the course frameworks and AI prompts. Each student shares what they implemented, what changed, and what they now understand about SEO that once felt confusing.

“I thought I knew everything I needed to know about SEO. It turns out there is still so much to learn, despite the education I have invested in over the years. What I failed to fully accept is that SEO is always evolving. Google is constantly updating what they want to see. What worked five or ten years ago may not work today. And with the rise of AI, there are now faster, more strategic ways to accomplish what used to take hours.

I recently updated my Venue Directory landing page. I had created the resource with good intentions, but it simply was not ranking. After the very first lesson on keyword research, I identified a high-volume, low-difficulty keyword and strategically implemented it. Using prompts from the course, I leveraged ChatGPT to help expand the content and transform a 250-word page into a genuinely valuable 1,300-word resource designed to serve couples and rank well.

In a short amount of time inside the course, I went from thinking, “I already know this,” to realizing how much more there is to master. I am already ranking at the top of page one for my primary long-tail keyword, but Blake showed me how to intentionally target additional long-tail keywords with clarity and confidence. I am excited to watch these new pages climb and compete with websites that have been sitting at the top for years.

Even when you believe you are an expert, there is always another level. A new strategy. A smarter tactic. A more efficient system. Blake’s course opened my eyes to SEO techniques I had overlooked for far too long, and it reminded me that growth never really stops.”

The course has helped me to organize my thoughts and strategies so I have a clear plan with SEO and what I want to be able to do to achieve the results that I want.  The beautiful thing is that it’s broken down into daily tasks over a period of time so to follow the timeline and chew away a little bit at a time helps get closer to the end goal.

SEO case study highlighting Blessed Creatives, a Honolulu, Hawaii wedding photography business, featuring a testimonial about gaining clarity and structure through an SEO course.

My biggest SEO struggle was that I felt there were so many things to do all at the same time.  Multiply that mindset by the amount of educators in the SEO space and the amount of overwhelm felt like I was suffocating.  There have been multiple moments of “so much to do in so little time” and I had the constant thought that I need to spend a few days just dialing it in and spending all my time and SEO and MAYBE it’ll work.

The one specific change and the biggest change is going to have to be strategy.  I went into the course thinking I know the basics of SEO and I know what it means so I can probably watch a few free YouTube videos and figure it out.  This program has shown me that doing SEO with intention can open the doors for many possibilities that stretch beyond success online.

The thing I understand about SEO now is that there is always something to improve and do better.  That could mean updating blogs, updating images, updating silo pages or pillar content.  It could mean revamping copy and making sure that each page is intentional and serves a purpose or a goal. I learned that through proper planning SEO doesn’t need to be daunting and scary.  It just takes more than putting words on a page to make it work and how your site is seen and supposed to be seen. “

“This course has given me an actual strategy of how to approach SEO and step by step instructions on how to go about implementing it. From keywords, home page, blogs, and silos, I now know how to build them out the best way for Google to find me and clients to get the information they need. Before the course, I thought I had a pretty good understanding. Now I have a plan and I’m much more confident in what to do to get my website more traffic.

Before the program, my biggest SEO struggle was decision paralysis. I knew just enough about SEO to be completely overwhelmed by it and not know where to start. I knew blogging was important and keywords are the backbone to blogs but didn’t know how to choose the right keyword. The program not only gave me clear instructions on where to start, it helped me understand why, AND gave me amazing prompts so I could get something on the page and not stare at a blank screen for hours until I finally gave up. One specific change I made to my website was optimizing my home page. With the help of one of the amazing prompts, I went from having my keyword on the page once or twice to having it integrated into the page 13 times (that doesn’t sound spammy). My on-page SEO score went from 43 to 94.

If you doubt SEO is worth it, I would point out that more and more couples are using ChatGPT to find their wedding vendors. If your only online presence is on social media you probably won’t show up in those results. Also, you don’t own your social media. One day, your account could get hacked or just disappear and if you’ve relied on only that for people to find you. Spend time on your SEO and repurpose your content for social media. That way you can please the social media algorithms while also letting Google/AI know who you are so it recommends you more than others in your area going the social media only route.

“Before, I honestly didn’t know much about SEO beyond… you should do it, blogging is good, put your keywords in lots of places. Now I have clarity on how it works and best practices, and a step by step process that goes beyond on page basics. Blake reduced a lot of stress because I know where to start, how to revisit things, and what reasonable best practices actually look like.”

“I ended up making a lot of changes to my site. The amount of text on a page was a big one because my pages were very photo heavy and didn’t have enough written content. I also fixed things like visual headings vs heading tags, added descriptions on all photos, and started using distinct keywords per page so I don’t cannibalize my own pages. I also created copies of my home page for different areas.”

“Blake walks you through all the best practices in a hands on way with community, tools, and access to coaching as needed throughout the process. He takes a multi prong approach that goes beyond just keywords or blogging and sets you up for success today, but also gives you processes to keep implementing as you grow and your business pivots. It does take intentional effort to get it all set up, but then it becomes a resource that brings leads and also validates you as a professional. Sign up, set aside the time, and your future self will thank you.”
